The National Equestrian CentreThe Centre was established in 1989 and is situated at the beautiful mansion Vilhelmsborg. The old buildings are renovated and new have been built, a.o. indoor and outdoor arenas. An overview can be found under "Find us". The equestrian centre appear today as a modern riding and show ground with facilities of international standard and quality, that can accommodate large events in horse competitions and breeding. Other areas of activity includes: Hippological educations, business conferences, courses in dressage, jumping, eventing, etc.. Furthermore, the center holds a first class gourmet restaurant and a cafeteria in the big show arena.Vilhelmsborg is located in a historic and nature attractive landscape close to Denmark's second largest city Aarhus.The equestrian centre is run non-profit in municipality by the town of Aarhus, Aarhus Riding Club, Danish Warmblood and the Danish Research & Knowledge Centre for Horses. His Royal Highness Prince Henrik is the patron. The Breeding Associations main organisation, Videncentret Heste - www.vfl.dk/Afdelinger/Heste Pony trot races:The history of Jydsk Pony Race Association goes back to 1970. The association has had it's domicile on Vilhelmsborg since 2005. In the summertime the association arrange pony trot races almost every second week. The association also run the only pony trotting school in Denmark on Vilhelmsborg. Look for futher information at: www.jpvf.dk Historical collection:Hippological Society Vilhelmsborg is an association with the primary aim to collect and keep litterature and other material about the horse throughout the ages. The library has about 300 books and journals and a collection of 300 videofilms og slide series. The library is placed in the old master stable.
